Testing, testing, 1,2,3...

So this is another 'test post' as I am still trying to figure out the whole blogging thing.

It was funny this weekend when Jason and I went out to eat, I made him wait until I took a picture of our plates before we could dig in... he said "So this is what I'm going to have to deal with now?" hahaha YEP! You're married to a 'blogger' now sucker!

Speaking of the dinner photos, they didn't really turn out but I'll post our desert below (it was yummy). We went out to PF Chang's Sunday for our Valentine's Day celebration because this coming weekend I will be working long hours at the Des Moines Home & Garden Show. We're hoping it will drive some business to Custom Organized Spaces.

So far the new job has been, well, BORING.... It's been a great experience to have gone through starting a new company but now we need to focus on marketing to drive some people in the door! Granite Transformations is different in that there are so many advertisements for kitchen and bathroom remodels that even if someone didn't see OUR ad on TV or in a home improvement magazine, they still may end up finding us when they search online or hear about us in reviews through word of mouth. With Custom Organized Spaces, the concept of custom designed closets, garages, or other storage or home organization solutions is pretty new and there really aren't ANY advertisements, even from our competitors.

Check out our website here to see some of our work.

Anywho, as promised below is our desert: Vanilla Cream Wontons with Raspberry and White Chocolate sauce.

I also included a pic of the heart cinnamon rolls I made for Jason on Saturday! <3

Very first blog post!

Well, here I am... testing my tech skills (very amateur) and creating the FIRST EVER post to Soaring onto Glory. This blog was created in an attempt to keep in touch with my long lost girl friends. We are all proud Benedictine College alums, but as time goes on and life takes us in different directions such as Iowa, Germany, or the moon (it could happen), we wanted a space to regularly connect and share/celebrate our ever changing lives.

We don't know what we'll blog about exactly... perhaps some DIY crafts from our teacher Ms. Erin... Any and all kick ass recipes from the German chef Katie O.... Maybe some home decor tips from Rachel or links to Holly's favorite clothing stores... "Damn, girl's got style!"

Of course we'll post about the crazy shenanigans of our lives and our kids (once we have them) but before we begin, we should mention that: Benedictine College does not endorse this blog. Some content may be considered offensive and does not reflect the teachings of the college or its staff members.

 LOL... But seriously
